Get to Know Us

The Children and Adolescent Mental Health Laboratory at Vanke School of Public Health, Tsinghua University, is dedicated to addressing psychological health issues in children and adolescents, encompassing challenges such as emotional disorders and self-harming behaviors. Adopting a multi-disciplinary perspective that integrates psychology with public health, we investigate the pathological mechanisms and diverse intervention strategies. Established in mid-2021, our laboratory is situated within the Tsinghua University. We take pride in cultivating an open, diverse, and inclusive environment for advancing research in the field of mental health.

Building and Advancing the CPPH System

The "Clinical Psychology and Public Health (CPPH)" Center, jointly established by Tsinghua University Vanke School of Public Health and Wulituo Hospital, aims to explore the intersection of clinical psychology and public health. The center delves into the essential concepts, principles, and practical applications at the intersection of clinical psychology and public health. CPPH is committed to extending clinical psychological services to diverse populations and environments to promote mental health. Here, we focus on examining how to integrate early detection and prevention of mental health into public health strategies, enabling the more effective development and implementation of targeted and efficient public health strategies and interventions, particularly in addressing common mental health and behavioral issues at the grassroots level.

Our mission includes the cultivation of interdisciplinary public health professionals who possess both clinical psychology knowledge and skills, empowering them to play an active role in the field of public health. We aim to nurture "scientist-practitioners" capable of scientific research and clinical skills. In times of significant public safety events, our goal is to contribute positively to societal mental health and public health, reducing the costs and burdens of mental health issues on families and society as a whole.

Our project focuses on the development of a digital mental health online platform called "Zi Jing Xin Qing" in collaboration with Tsinghua University Vanke School of Public Health, Tsinghua University School of Fine Arts, and Tsinghua University Yuquan Hospital. The Wechat applet has three core functions of psychological science popularization, psychological assessment and psychological training, and sets up a special anti-epidemic area for the public affected by the epidemic to provide professional mental health public welfare services.
